Each seminar was developed from the basic Visual Merchandising Seminar and then specific examples were included from the customers industry along with case studies.
For examples, the Christian Booksellers Association offered 10 stores in the Connecticut region that were willing to be photographed for the seminar.
They also contacted 6 stores around the country and arranged for slides to be sent to Linda Cahan for inclusion in the presentation.
The ARA also had slides sent that added greatly to the show.
It is important that the audience see pictures from their businesses, otherwise, they will complain that the displays and ideas work for “those guys” but not for them.
Each speech is researched and new slides are taken to add to the custom feel for the audience.
The outline for a custom speech will follow that of the Visual Merchandising Seminar. Changes/additions/subtractions will be discussed with management long before the speech is scheduled.
- Please contact Linda Cahan regarding specific fees for Seminars.
- Seminar fees are to be paid within one week of the seminar date.
- Travel, food, lodging and extra film processing expenses will be billed separately to the client and are payable upon receipt.
Bio material, photographs and handouts will be sent promptly upon request.

This is an interactive workshop for both small and large store owners. It is a combination of a 45 minute store design slide lecture with approximately 2 hours for groups to get together at round tables to design a store.
This is a powerful, fun, challenging and exciting workshop. I’ve given this workshop for several different organizations and retail groups including:

D. After the designs are finished one person will remain at the table to describe the store design to the other workshop attendees. The others will wander around the tables to see what the other teams came up with. The second presenter will “spell” the other after 10 minutes so the first person can make the rounds of the tables.
This is a 3 hour workshop. Breaks are not scheduled – it’s ideal if beverages and very light snacks are available after the 45 minute talk. People can then leave their groups when they need to – and not disrupt the flow of the design effort.
The list of materials/tools needed for this workshop will be sent in advance.
